The Devauden Village Social will be held on Saturday 25 October from 3pm to 11.30pm at the Hood Memorial Hall. Free entry.
Building on the success of the inaugural Village Social last November, this is an event bringing Devauden and its surrounding communities together to listen to local musicians, drink local brews and eat good food.
There are no tickets and no admission fee.
Programme of Events:
• 3pm – Adults’ Singing Workshop (12 years and over)
• 4pm – Children’s Singing Workshop
• 5.30pm – Singing Show with adults and children combined!
• 6.30pm – The Dream Forest Vipers (Playing an eclectic mix of traditional R&B, pop songs and hits from popular '60's and '70's).
• 7.30pm - John McConnachie (John is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born and based in Chepstow)
• 9pm to close – DJ Funkenstein playing his “Monster Mashup of reggae, funk and disco”
Singing Workshop
The Singing workshops are exciting and something new to try for all ages and ability. Run by Ella from Singing for the Soul and the Rising Stars Singing Academy. All you need is enthusiasm! Just be at the hall before 3pm (adults) and 4pm (children). With a combined adult and children singing show planned for 5.30pm.
Don’t just come along to the Social, be part of it!
Bar
Try some fine locally brewed real ales and ciders. The Hall's usual selection of drinks will also be available and, as always, the prices are very competitive.
Food
Jim’s Pizza (www.jims-pizza.com) will be offering freshly made Neapolitan style customised pizzas (£9 to £12); vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available plus homemade sweet treats!
If you wish please just come along and make use of this fantastic take away offering.
There will be plenty of seating both inside and undercover outside the hall including our ‘Chatting Table’.
Kids Room
The Ferard Room will be a play space for children, with a few games and toys provided.
Please note Kids Room is unsupervised so please ensure your children are supervised.
Free squash for kids will be available
Parking
Parking is in the Cae Ni field with access to the hall via the side lane. The field is unlit and unsupervised so you might need a torch as well as your wellies.
Parking in the hall grounds will be strictly for holders of Blue Badge Permits.
There will be a drop off option for those with very small children, those with limited mobility (but without a Blue Badge) and for musicians’ equipment, but cars will still have to be parked in Cae Ni.
